Brett Slobin joined Slobin & Slobin, P.C. in 2004. Prior to joining the firm he practiced law at Littlepage & Associates, P.C. and at Manning, Gosda & Arredondo, LLP, in Houston, Texas. Brett has experience in a wide range of business, contract and real estate law matters, including the drafting and review of limited partnership agreements, company agreements, shareholders' agreements, purchase and sale agreements, earnest money contracts, commercial leases and various other contracts.

Some of Brett's work includes:

  • Represented developers of multi-family housing in connection with the negotiation and obtaining of over $200,000,000 in construction financing.
  • Represented clients in connection with the drafting and negotiation of earnest money contracts, letters of intent, loan commitments, construction contracts and various other agreements.
  • Represented clients in connection with the formation of business entities, the drafting of limited partnership agreements/company agreements and the drafting and negotiation of related contractual matters.
  • Represented clients in connection with the drafting and negotiation of buy/sell agreements, non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements, releases, indemnity agreements and service agreements.
  • Represented clients in connection with private placement exemptions.
  • Prepared and presented seminars, presentations and talking points for clients and the public, and publish articles in periodicals concerning relevant legal issues.
  • Represented landlords and tenants in connection with the leasing of over 100,000 square feet of retail and office space.
  • Represented real estate developers in connection with the acquisition and disposition of over $100,000,000 of real property with and without improvements.
  • Represented clients in connection with litigation matters, including the drafting of pleadings, attending hearings and deposing witnesses.

Brett recieved his JD from South Texas College of Law where he participated in Moot Court/Mock Trial and was a member of the Environmental Law Society. He received a B.A. in history from the University of Texas at Austin, where he was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society and the University of Texas Judicial Service Organization.

Brett is licensed to practice law in Texas and is a member of the State Bar of Texas. He is admitted to practice before the Southern District of Texas.

Brett is a member of the American Bar Association, the Houston Bar Association, the Real Estate and Corporate Counsel Sections of the Houston Bar Association, the Houston Young Lawyers Association, the Downtown Alliance and the Institute for Rehabilitation and Research Foundation.

Brett has published a number of articles in periodicals and newspapers such as the Houston Chronicle, the Houston Business Journal and the Texas Bond Buyer Extra. Brett has also given presentations on a variety of different topics, from business entity formation to the liabilities and responsibilities of directors of non-profit corporations.
