The Houston Food Bank is the nation’s largest size Feeding America food bank and source of food for hunger relief charities in 18 southeast Texas counties. A network of nearly 500 food pantries, soup kitchens, senior centers and other agencies, feeding a total of 137,000 people each week, provides more than 70 million pounds of food and prepared meals annually. Fresh produce, meat and nonperishables are distributed from the new warehouse at 535 Portwall, and hot meals are prepared and distributed from Keegan Center, a 15,000 square-foot industrial kitchen.
On January 14, 2012, Keith Wolf of Murray Resources, Richard Buxbaum of Radius Realty Advisors, and Brett Slobin of Slobin & Slobin, P.C. volunteered at the Houston Food Bank. Keith, Richard and Brett, as well as other individual volunteers, contributed to providing almost 700 box meals.

The University of Houston Small Business Development Center (UHSBDC) provides free business consulting and affordable training seminars to small and medium-sized business owners and managers. The UHSBDC is a business consulting and training center of the SBDC Network, which serves 32 counties in Southeast Texas through 14 business consulting and training centers.
On February 22, 2012, Richard Buxbaum of Radius Realty Advisors and Brett Slobin of Slobin & Slobin, P.C. volunteered to provide a presentation on commercial leasing. The presentation, entitled Commercial Leasing 101: Finding the Right Space and Understanding the Terms, covered subjects ranging from finding the right location for your business, to letters of intent, to specific terms in commercial leases.
